What is held, and for how long

An account of every record this site and this unit keep: what the eleven pages hold, the one request that leaves your browser, what is filed in the unit and for how long.

What these eleven pages hold

Nothing. These pages are files, and the list beside this paragraph is the whole of what a browser fetches from this domain when one of them is opened.

No cookie is set by any of them, there is no analytics of any kind, no tracking pixel, no advertising identifier, no embedded video, no map frame and no third-party widget. There is no form on this site that posts anywhere, so there is no field anywhere that could be submitted and stored.

This page therefore has no cookie table. A table of cookies that are not set would be borrowed from somewhere else, and it would be the only untrue thing on the site.

Everything a page fetches

The page itself. One file, served as it is written, keeping nothing between visits.

One stylesheet, shared by all eleven pages. Layout, palette and the motion gate; no state.

One script. It opens the surfaces sheet and runs the two panels, and forgets what was typed when the tab closes.

Two favicons, sixteen and thirty-two pixels square. The whole of the site’s image load.

The one request that leaves the browser

Each page asks a public web-font service for one stylesheet and the two typefaces it names. That is a real request to a server this company does not run, so that service sees that a browser asked it for those fonts, from an address it can see.

If that request is blocked or fails, the pages fall back to typefaces already on the device and everything stays readable. Nothing on this site depends on it.

RecordWhy it is heldHow longThen
Correspondence received at the published addressto answer it, and to find the thread it belongs to24 months from the last message in the threaddeleted
Surface sheets and category sheetsthey are the specificationwhile the surface is in the standardfiled with the issue that replaced it
Slug registerevery published address is in it; a missing row is a dead linkas long as any address in it is livekept

None of those records is about a reader of this site, because this site collects nothing about its readers. Correspondence is the only category that can contain anything about a person, and it contains exactly what the person chose to write.
